We are delighted to share an exciting update about the future of the Academy at Highwoods Golf Club.

The new Academy programme will officially begin on 1st April, with an Official Introduction Morning on Saturday 28th March, where you will meet the professional team, fellow Academy members, and be introduced to the structure of the year ahead.

This enhanced 12-month Academy programme will now include 33 lessons, made up of:

10 individual 30-minute lessons
20 group coaching sessions
3 guided 9-hole playing lessons
In addition, we will introduce organised course access on Tuesday afternoons to create opportunities for informal competition play and to build confidence in a supportive environment.

The focus of the Academy is not just technical development. While structured coaching remains central, we are placing equal emphasis on social connection, companionship, and integration into Highwoods and its club culture. All Academy members will now begin together and progress as a group, creating friendships and learning alongside golfers of similar ability, with the shared ambition of becoming full members of Highwoods Golf Club.

The Academy continues to include:

Summer course access after 2pm
Winter course access after midday
Unlimited access to the clubhouse and practice facilities, 7 days a week
Cost

The annual Academy cost is £750, broken down as:

£618 – payable in the Pro Shop (covering the full lesson programme)
£132 – payable in the Club Office (covering social membership and course access for 12 months)
Existing Academy Members

You are invited to join the new programme before it officially launches.

If your current Academy membership runs beyond 1st April, please register your interest in the Pro Shop in the first instance. The Office will then calculate a pro-rata adjustment based on how many lessons you have already used and confirm your revised amount.

Who Is the Academy For?

The Highwoods Academy is designed for men and women who are not ready to become a full golf club member and maybe new to golf, returning to the game, or at beginner level.

If any current Academy golfer has progressed beyond this stage, they will be invited to consider full membership or offered a tailored package of individual lessons specific to their improved ability.

Highwoods is a beautiful 18-hole course with varied teeing options and a challenge suitable for beginners through to experienced golfers.
Our professional team are among the most experienced and talented coaches in the region. They have supported many beginners and returning golfers and are skilled at helping players improve without over-complicating the game.

You are fully supported by the Club. We are committed to creating a clear pathway into membership that supports your development, removes perceived barriers, and welcomes you into the club we are proud of.
